Outdoor concert and festival production is the highest-complexity, highest-stakes discipline in live events. Every system — audio, lighting, staging, power, rigging — must function perfectly together, in open-air conditions, for hours. Meyat Sound has built and operated main stages, second stages, and festival villages for events across Gauteng and South Africa.

Our outdoor production capability begins with the main PA system. We deploy professional touring-grade line array systems — d&b audiotechnik, L-Acoustics, and Nexo — capable of delivering even, powerful, undistorted coverage across festival grounds ranging from 2,000 to 20,000 person capacities. Every system is designed from acoustic modelling data specific to your venue footprint.

Festival stage infrastructure is a core Meyat Sound capability. We supply and construct modular roofed festival stages with ground support truss systems, rated for wind loads and meet SANS 10085 structural safety requirements. Our stages accommodate rider requirements for international and local touring artists across all genres.

Power generation and distribution is critical at outdoor events where municipal supply is unavailable or insufficient. We deploy silent-running diesel generators from 20kVA to 500kVA, with professional power distribution boards, temporary feeder cables, and load management systems. Our certified electricians manage all temporary electrical installations on site.

Lighting for outdoor festivals is transformative after dark. We rig and operate extensive lighting arrays on main stage trusses: moving heads, LED wash bars, pixel-controlled strobes, and haze systems that create the visual energy your audience expects. Our lighting operators are experienced in operating under artist riders and in programming festival-appropriate looks for headline sets.

We have extensive experience deploying production at outdoor concert venues and festival grounds across Gauteng including the Delta Park Open Air Amphitheatre, the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, the Pretoria Botanical Gardens, Modderfontein Reserve, Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, and Carnival City. We are also experienced in greenfields festival production — building complete event infrastructure from the ground up in open fields and private estates.

Our festival production team operates as a self-sufficient unit. We arrive on site with all equipment, crew, tools, and consumables to complete the installation independently. We liaise with your event coordinator, artist production managers, and local authority representatives to ensure full compliance and a safe working environment.
